Celebrities pay thousands of dollars for a two-week stay at the Viva Mayr Clinic in Austria, all for the promise of losing weight and, at the same time, learning to eat and live healthy in just days. Now, thanks to Dr. Harald Stossier and the recently released “The Viva Mayr Diet,” any man or woman can benefit from the renowned and healthy diet at a mere fraction of the price, the British publication the Daily Mail informs.

The deal with the Viva Mayr diet is, Dr. Stossier stresses, that it represents a complete overhaul of the slimmer’s eating habits and lifestyle, marking a move for the better. Patients of the clinic, for instance, don’t simply go on an all-cabbage diet to lose the extra weight, since the focus falls primarily on improving their health as well – it’s not for nothing that they say beauty is health.

So, Dr. Stossier says, in order to take up the Viva Mayr diet, slimmers have to be prepared to make several drastic changes in their life, from what they eat to when they do so and the manner in which they do so. First of all, the diet eliminates caffeine and sugar in all forms it may come under, so that the body is purified from all toxins. Granted, for the first couple of days, this might mean that the slimmer suffers from headaches and tiredness, but it’s just a minor setback that should be easily overcome with proper motivation, Dr. Stossier underlines for the Mail.

The importance of chewing food properly is also taken into consideration by the Viva Mayr diet, as doing so not only allows us to fully enjoy the flavors of the dish we’re having, but it also prevents us from overeating by helping us become aware of how full we actually are as we eat. When we eat is equally significant, which comes to explain why we constantly hear about breakfast being the most important meal of the day, Dr. Stossier says.

“Just as our bodies and minds tire towards the evening, so does our digestive system. In the first half of the day – when we are rested and raring to go – we can digest basically anything at all. This is, therefore, the time to eat your main meals of the day, and it is also the best time to eat raw foods such as fruit and vegetables, which can be difficult to digest. Dinner should always be something light and easy to digest, like soup, lightly cooked vegetables and fish – and eaten before 6pm ideally, to allow thorough digestion before you go to sleep.” Stossier explains as cited by the Mail.

As slimmers learn to pay more attention to what they eat and drink with the Viva Mayr diet, they also learn which kind of fat is actually good for their body – and whose consumption is therefore encouraged. The daily protein intake should similarly be thoroughly checked for the best results, Dr. Stossier adds. For a sample of a couple of recipes included in the Viva Mayr diet, please see here.
