Identity Systems, a pioneer in the identity systems' market, has announced that it will debut a new platform designed for the identification of pirated media materials through unstructured text
on the Internet. Unstructured Data Module introduces analytics and algorithms for scanning and identifying hidden relationships outside the boundaries imposed by arcane databases and traditional spreadsheets. Digging deep into digital data streams, the software will scan emails, listings of directories, peer-to-peer search returned results and lists of downloaded files belonging to the copyrighted media category.
"The music industry has a pervasive challenge because song titles and artists' names can be among the hardest to match when the data set is large," said Ramesh Menon, Identity Systems' North American operations director. "We're finding more and more that music societies and publishers are seeking this type of solution as a critical part of copyright compliance."
Unstructured Data Module is built to run on a standalone server while integrating seamlessly with EMI Music Publishing's copyright system. The license watchdog duo will perform synchronized royalty management and monitoring functions to identify not only generalized infringement cases, but also individual licenses infringements.
