Puzzle game of the 90's brought back to life

Lemmings was one of the most appreciated titles of the early nineties and, as it usually happens in such circumstances, a few companies tried to create similar games and get tons of money. The Humans, developed by GameTek in 1992, was one of the Lemmings-like titles but, unfortunately for the developers, it was far from being considered successful, even though it brought a host of new and improved gameplay mechanics. However, not everybody lost confidence in the game, since Deep Silver has announced that it's working on a remake.

The game's concept is pretty simple: players have to guide The Humans through time and help them accomplish all goals set for them in each level. A lot of strategic thinking is required, as well as intense planning, since all must work together and, just like in the Lemmings, one wrong step can prove to be fatal. So, you'll have to assign tasks to the Humans in your tribe, guide them and try to avoid all obstacles - everything in a race against the clock!

For a title like this one, we'll have a decent amount of characters, 14, from tribal brothers to tigers to mammoths and T-Rex dinosaurs. No less than 80 levels will test our skills and strategic thinking, while following the course of evolution. This means that, along the way, The Humans will discover the most important inventions of mankind, like fire, the wheel and even weapons. Everything mixed with a lot of humor!

Hopefully, this remake of The Humans will not suffer from the flaws of the original game, such hard to control characters and rather strange mechanics - if you remember, the number of tribe mates was limited and if too many lost their lives, it was game over for you. A good idea, but apply it to 80 levels: it will simply not work!

Anyway, we will see exactly whether Deep Silver is able to do a great job in the fourth quarter of 2008, when the game is released on DS and PC.
