The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) is so appalled by “The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence)” and the images it puts onscreen that it has flat-out refused to rate it, which means it’s been outlawed and will not be released in the UK at all.

Horror fans will remember 2009’s “The Human Centipede (First Sequence),” a film by Dutch director Tom Six who aimed to show how a mad German scientist set out to create a “human centipede” by stitching his victim's mouth to anus.

The first “centipede” had only 3 people in it, but this year’s sequel aims to up it to 12, with the same director at the helm.

The story takes viewers this time to London, the Daily Mail informs, where a man becomes so obsessed with the first “Human Centipede” film that he sets out to create his own experiment.

Regardless how much Six insists that his movie is art, its content is simply too violent, obscene and disgusting to ever have it out there for UK audiences, the BBFC has ruled.

“There is little attempt to portray any of the victims in the film as anything other than objects to be brutalized, degraded and mutilated for the amusement and arousal of the central character, as well as for the pleasure of the audience,” the body says in a statement.

Aside from the increased number of victims included in the “human centipede” this time, the sequel also brings another twist to the story, in that it makes it clearer that the mad scientist derives clear pleasure from torturing his victims.

Because of this, says the Mail, it may actually “fall foul on the Obscene Publications Act.”

Director Six, on the other hand, is adamant that both films are art and that no body or authority should come between and fans of horror movies: if people don’t like his movies, they should be free to choose not to watch them.

“Thank you BBFC for putting spoilers of my movie on your website and thank you for banning my film in this exceptional way,” Six says in a statement cited by the same publication.

“Apparently I made a horrific horror-film, but shouldn't a good horror film be horrific? It is all fictional. Not real. It is all make-belief. It is art. Give people their own choice to watch it or not,” the director says.

“If people can’t handle or like my movies they just don’t watch them. If people like my movies they have to be able to see it any time, anywhere also in the UK,” Six adds.

Below is a teaser for the sequel and the official trailer for the original film. Check them out to see what the fuss is all about.
