Last year’s “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” ended with the promise of more action to come in the second (of a series of three) film, which is due for December 13. A first official trailer has been released and is available in full and in HD above.

Not only will fans be reunited with their favorite Dwarves, but they will also be happy to welcome back Legolas from the previous films and Thranduil from “Unexpected Journey.”

They will also meet Tauriel, played by Evangeline Lilly, and have a good look at Smaug.

More importantly, though, with this trailer, fans will get near-confirmation that “Desolation of Smaug” will be even more action-packed than the first film.

“The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor,” a brief synopsis of the film says.

Enjoy!
