A new buddy cop comedy is coming our way and, unlike all other such films, it proposes a rather unlikely partnership: an FBI agent and a cop who does everything by her own set of rules.

The first official trailer for “The Heat” is above.

Starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy as the unlikely duo, “The Heat” sees the latter team up with her “Bridesmaids” director, Paul Feig, again. The script is by Kate Dippold.

“Uptight and straight-laced, FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) is a methodical investigator with a reputation for excellence–and hyper-arrogance. Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy), one of Boston P.D.’s ‘finest,’ is foul-mouthed and has a very short fuse, and uses her gut instinct and street smarts to catch the most elusive criminals,” a brief synopsis describes the two.

As you can imagine, nothing good (at least at first) can come out of the association of these two.

“The Heat” will be out on April 5, 2013.
