Capcom has recently revealed that their latest Ace Attorney game will take place during the Meiji period of Japan, circa 1868-1912, and will be titled The Great Ace Attorney.

The game will feature an ancestor of Phoenix Wright, who aims to become a lawyer, showing how the entire legacy began, and Capcom has just released a trailer offering a glimpse into the upcoming game's world, at the dawn of modern law.

The interesting setting will allow players to experience the 19th century atmosphere during the Meiji era of the great Japanese Empire. Gamers will get to discover the tale of Ryuunosuke Naruhodo, the ace attorney's ancestor driven by the same spirit, as well as the story of Susato Mikotoba, a precious flower that blooms into the world.

The trailer reveals the full title of the game to be The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures of Ryuunosuke Naruhodo, and hints at the auspicious encounter between the two main characters.

The game is directed by Shu Takumi, the series' creator, and produced by Shintaro Kojima.

The Great Ace Attorney is currently being developed exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS handheld gaming console. The game has not yet been confirmed for localization, but the game is likely to also land in western markets sometime later.
