
Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay and Sugarland are among the artists most recently added to the list of performers for this year's award show. Springsteen, who has previously won twelve Grammys is nominated for five this year, while Coldplay is nominated in three categories.
Grammy nominated Christina Aguilera and Herbie Hancock are also taking the stage for an exclusive and intimate performance. Maroon 5, John Legend, Will.I.Am, Joss Stone, Robert Randolph, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry and Devin Lima are planned to come together on stage for a not to be missed tribute. The Recording Academy also announced a special tribute to the legendary funk band, Sly and the Family Stone.
Sly and the Family Stone, a musical icon in the sixties and seventies, are well-known for the songs "I Want To Take You Higher," "Dance To The Music," and "Everyday People." They were included into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.
There were also announced some interesting pairs of presenters at the Academy event, including U2 and Mary J. Blige, Keith Urban and Faith Hill, Jamie Foxx and Kanye West and the weirdest of all: Sugarland, Hezekiah Walker, and Mariah Carey. Previously announced presenters include Big & Rich, Tom Hanks and Terrence Howard.
The 48th Annual Grammy Awards will air live Wednesday, February 8 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcasted on the Westwood One Radio Network. The show is being produced by John Cossette Productions in association with Ken Ehrlich Productions for The Recording Academy.
