14 DAY TRIAL // Following the fashion extravaganza over the weekend of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, when the word of the day was shimmer, the 2010 Country Music Awards illustrated was all about the color and the length. As is customary with such events, the red carpet ceremony was an important part of the actual gala, with the ladies rocking incredibly short creations in the most summery colors available, as JustJared can confirm.
Anyone with minimum knowledge of what’s hot in fashion this year knows pastel colors are back in, as also are psychedelic patterns and futuristic or just unexpected combinations of fabric. The girls at this year’s issue of the Country Music Awards were well aware of that – and all of them donned for the special occasions dresses that would look just as good on a regular woman as well, hip and youthful and, above all, in tone with this summer’s tendencies.
Cutie Taylor Swift, who was up for three awards, rocked a patterned Galliano prom dress, which came in a cute, girlish cut that emphasized her waist and, of course, her legs. With her hair straightened out, the singer made for a very sweet presence on the red carpet – but a very fashionable one as well. Swift accessorized with jewelry from Lorraine Schwartz, a VBH bag and shoes by Christian Louboutin for 3.1 Phillip Lim, the aforementioned celebrity e-zine informs.
While Swift may have chosen to play it safe in terms of color choice, fellow singer Carrie Underwood went all out there in a bright pink creation that almost instantly got tongues wagging – and all eyes on her. The blonde singer also kept it short in the low-cut, frilly dress, seemingly held together by black, beady details on the waist and neck. She matched it with ankle sandals and a beaded clutch.
Actress Hayden Panettiere also went for an interesting design in a bright color: the petite actress contrasted her newly-cropped ‘do with a lace and satin dress that put lots of skin on display while apparently revealing nothing. She accessorized with black sating peep-toe pumps. Similarly colorful and youthful was also singer LeAnn Rimes, who looked positively stunning in a blue patterned mini dress, with Neil Lane jewelry, Jimmy Choo shoes and an Alia belt.
