The round pool table was indeed one strange appearance in the world of cues and chalk; yet the new contraption designed by Nottage surpasses it on all levels. Despite the fact that the all glass and metal pool table looks nothing like the green fields you've been probably expecting to see, the G-1 table comes wit a most alluring shape and we could say it is truly inviting. Yet, we cannot leave aside the feeling of utter frailty glass has always been associated with – and by all means, there is nothing that fragile in the construction of the G-1 as it sports a top-drawer engineering, both as regards the glass side and in terms of overall construction.

The slate and felt have been replaced with a see-through table top: not only that you can see the balls you've already sent for their holes resting quietly in their return mechanism, but you can also see your opponent's intrigued foot twitches as they see their defeat.

The Nottage Design G-1 tabletop has been made from a special toughened glass sheet that has replaced the slate board. And if you were wondering about the dynamics of such a pool table, fear not: the glass is covered with a very special transparent resinous material called Vitrik and which perfectly simulates the same traction pool balls get from the traditional felt cover. While giving you the same physics and feeling as the classic green felt, the Vitrik layer allows you to see through it (and the glass bed underneath), adding even more points to the style rating of your G-1 table.

Apart from these features you don't meet in other tables, the Nottage G-1 sports a fully-functional ball return system for the pocketed balls and a very robust overall construction that's meant to give you both pleasure and confidence. The rest of the feats are industry standard: from BCA-approved pockets and K-66 bumpers to standard playing area and height, everything is within any pro's most serious demands.

You'll get quality standard balls with a 2.25” diameter, custom silver-finish cues, a triangle, a set of balls and for those concerned about how tidy your G-1 table would look – a special polishing agent for your Vitrik surface. If you feel like having Captain Picard or other Sci-Fi character for a match or two, you can order your G-1 from Nottage directly, but better have some serious cash at hand: this pool table costs around $25.000... and it comes from Australia.
