The Getaway Hints V (PS2)

The Getaway is a video game that was developed by Team SOHO and was published by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Ltd.

The game was launched exclusively on the PlayStation 2 home gaming console from Sony.

It was released during the month of December 2002.

The game can be classed as action title that is played from a third person perspective and includes elements from genres like shooter and racing.

GAMEPLAY HINTS

Driving through police road blocks

When the police have set up a roadblock to stop you, it will appear as follows: police van (left side), police cars (middle left), spike strip (middle right), police van (right side). When approaching the road block, slam the brakes then quickly get in one of the vehicles blocking the road. Turn it around and speed off. The police car chasing you will crash into the roadblock.

When in a police vehicle blocking the road, be careful not to drive over the spike strips. Also, when you stop your vehicle or get out at the roadblock, the police will start shooting you.

Avoid getting arrested or shot by the police

When being chased by police on foot, get in any vehicle. The police will not be able to shoot or arrest. Note: The police will only shoot at your vehicle if you have committed a lot of crime. Beware of undercover police, as one of them has an AK47 which will put your car up in smoke.

When you attract a lot of police attention and cannot find a quick way of escape, grab a civilian. The police will stop shooting and look as if they try to plead with you. They will not fire at all, even if you start killing people. Note: This only works if you are facing the police or are within 35 to 50 feet away from them. This trick does not work against gangs.

To get police to stop shooting at you, take a hostage and face the cops. They will immediately surrender.
