Gator Cases need no presentation among musicians and especially among guitar players: they simply build some of the nicest instrument cases available on the market today; forget about the black Tolex or the snake skin and think something new, like camouflage or any other materials and colors...that's what Gator Cases stand for. [admark=1]

Now, having a good instrument case is one very good thing, especially as you own some expensive gear well worth protecting; but Gator have simply takes things even further and have decided that something completely new has to be added in the world of guitar cases.

Well, I guess that those of you with a bit more experience in the world of gadgets have already figured it out: it's- of course- the iPod. I've written about the "iPodization" times before, but it just looks like soon there will be little technology without a dedicated iPod-something or at least iPod support. It's the case of these new Gator guitar cases, offering the same top-drawer, no-compromise protection for your axe but boasting the internal iPod dock and speakers for music on the run.

It's all a very simple idea: Gator have just added a transparent pouch on the side of the case, in which you slide your iPod: you can see it and you can operate it right through the transparent plastic sheet. You hook it up to the dual battery-powered speakers , hit "Play" and rock on. You don't have to play, the iPod will...and if you're on a liner or boat or some other transportation vehicle, you've also got audience, whether the people around you like it or not. After all, what could they do? Throw themselves overboard? Most likely not...even though they could put up a lynch-mob if you think playing loud grindcore with your iPod speakers on a bus is a cool idea...

All in all, for those neat hours while traveling with your band mates to your next gig, the iPod case from Gator might be one very cool and handy entertainment solution. Coming in a variety of shapes and colors for virtually any guitars, this funny case retails for just under $90, which is a truly fair price. And yes, it's the "I-series". The "iCase".

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
