Celebrities often fall prey to Internet hoaxes that consist of spreading reports of their untimely and – most often than not – bloody passing. These reports usually originate from a seemingly respectable source and spread like wild fire, until a statement from the publicist of the star in question comes. In The Game’s case, he’s chosen to do things somewhat differently, as E! Online reports.

Usually, the celebrities targeted in these online campaigns do not utter a single word (via no media channel) regarding the spreading rumors. The rapper The Game, though, chooses to see the funny side in having people write about his death. Instead of being upset that there are reports out there claiming he died in a shoot-out over the weekend in a Los Angeles mall, The Game goes along with the whole farce and takes to his Twitter to joke about it. He’s the first rapper to tweet from the grave, he says.

“At least one good thing has come from today’s bogus celebrity-death report: The Game’s tweets. ‘As a matter of fact, I am dead,’ went one entry from the Grammy-winning rapper this morning. ‘I’m the 1st n-gga to #graveTweet!!!’ No, not bad for a man supposedly gunned down at a Los Angeles mall. But wait – the Game’s only getting started. ‘I tell you on thing though, you can’t really get good reception here in this coffin.... Damn T-Mobile !!!,’ he complained,” E! writes.

“The 30-year-old star is in Sacramento, where he’s set to play a club tonight. Wrote the Game about the gig: ‘Im bringn all da zombies from thriller & I dug up Rick James [expletive]! Being dead is da best.’ As you may have noticed, the rapper is taking ‘news’ of his demise with exceedingly good humor. ‘Who ever started da rumor dat I was dead is funny as hell,’ he wrote. ‘If u gone spread rumors, b more creative. Say, I had a fight wit the Toy Story cast or sumn & it turned fatal ha ha’.” E! further says.

As noted above, The Game reportedly went down guns a-blazing in a gangster confrontation that reportedly took place at LA’s Beverly Center. Incidentally or not, this is the same place where a very young and talented rapper (Dolla) was shot and killed in May last year.
