Peter Molyneux, the indie developer best known for his work on Fable, Black & White and Populous, says that regardless of the power of hardware or the generation of consoles, the future of gaming is linked to online experiences.

The game creator believes that developers need to understand why connected experiences are interesting and make sure that the Internet link on any device can be used to play.

He tells TechRadar that, “You've got to give consumers the real benefit of why being online is a great thing for them. Why it's great for gaming, why it's great for their pockets and why it's great for the experiences they're having.”

Molyneux used the potential of online experiences in its recent Curiosity, which challenges crowds of players to work together to find out what is at the center of a huge cube.

His 22 Cans team is now working on Project Godus.
