Windows 10 is almost here, and software developers across the world are working to make their apps fully compatible with the new operating system, and antivirus developers are among the pioneers of this global effort.

Today, Avast Software has announced that its 2015 lineup of software is fully compatible with Windows 10, so in case you are planning to upgrade to the new operating system and looking for a fully featured security solution to stay away from malware and other threats, Avast is clearly worth a chance.

What’s more, Avast Software is offering one of the best freeware antivirus products on the market, and coupled with the free upgrade to Windows 10, you can get a powerful mix of operating system plus antivirus at absolutely no cost.

“In short, ensuring that Avast is compatible with Windows 10 is quite simple. Avast version V2015 R2 and newer are already compatible with Windows 10. Users who currently have V2015 R2 or newer installed and plan to update from Windows 7 or 8 to Windows 10 will automatically have Avast transferred to Windows 10 at the same time,” Avast Software explains.

More apps to follow

Basically, most of the antivirus solutions currently on the market, especially those developed by big companies such as Kaspersky and ESET, should already be running fine on Windows 10 preview builds, but most software developers are now hard at work to make sure that their products are fully compatible with the new OS.

As a result, expect plenty of apps to add full support for Windows 10 in the next few weeks, as we’re getting closer to the launch date of the new operating system set for July 29.

In the meantime, if you’re already running the preview build on your PCs and looking for security software to keep you on the safe side, download Avast Antivirus with Windows 10 support here.
