It was enough for Will Poole, senior vice president of the client division of Microsoft, to make the mistake of saying at Microsoft Financial Analyst Conference that the newly dubbed Windows Vista will be launched in the winter of 2006 and everybody started to wonder why Microsoft is postponing the launching.
Although Will Poole
tried to rectify his mistake at the end of the speech, everybody seemed already convinced that Windows Vista will be the perfect present for the Christmas tree.
Aside from this statement made by Poole, which might have been just a mistake, there aren't any other signs which might point out that Microsoft will postpone Windows Vista.
The promoting campaign for Windows XP, started when Mac OS X Tiger was launched, will end in July-August 2006, in the same time when the promoting campaign for Windows Vista begins.
Up to now, Microsoft has stuck to its launching schedule for the beta version of Windows Visa, the company even launching it a few days earlier, which is quite unusual for the software giant.
Windows XP is already old enough and it's hard to believe that Microsoft can afford to postpone even more an OS, about which many already say it will be launched much later than it should have been.
We will probably find out more about Microsoft's launching schedule in fall.
