The First Public WPF/E Game

Sprawl is a turn based strategy built exclusively with Microsoft products. Sprawl is designed to work with the Redmond Company's Windows Presentation Foundation Everywhere, a cross
platform presentation technology that enables the addition of extra content to HTML, such as rich media, animation, video content and vector-based graphics.

Sprawl turns you into a nature loving cowboy in a face-off with the corporate evil. Turn by turn you move to gather as much resources and as much territory as possible while aiming to block your opponent from doing the same. I cannot say that I have played this game extensively, but the AI is healthy to say the least, but not a real match. That is why a few levels up they keep throwing opponents at you. Outnumbered but never outgunned. Remember you're a cowboy!

You can play the game here, but you have to have the Windows Presentation Foundation Everywhere installed. You can download WPF/E right here on Softpedia. Currently WPF/E is a Community Technology Preview constructed by Microsoft as a Flash alternative. The Redmond Company even made a presentation of the two platforms running side by side.

Sprawl, via WPF/E supports Firefox 2.0 and even runs on Mac. This, however, is not the case with Linux. "Most of the game graphics were created in another product I'm designing called Expression Design. I'll try to post the source files for the artwork at some point," said its creator on Lost Garden.
