Far Cry 2 is one of the most expected games this year, being the successor to one of the most breath taking games in the pretty big portfolio of French company Ubisoft. Although the first game was developed by CryTek, which have recently launched the Crysis series, this second Far Cry title was developed by the team at Ubisoft Montreal.

The game promises to take players in a war torn African country in search of an infamous weapon dealer known only as the Jackal. Far Cry 2 offers players a gameplay experience completely different from other types of shooters, taking realism to new levels as you are now forced to check your paper map each time you are lost, or the healing process actually shows you taking out your bullets and healing your wounds.

The game was launched on October 21 for the United States, with Australia and Europe getting their hands on it on the 23rd and 24th respectively. It immediately gained critical acclaim for the vast innovations brought to the genre and enjoyed massive sales. But the game came with a lot of flaws, as many glitches were encountered by players in both the single and multiplayer modes.

In regards to these problems, Ubisoft have just announced having launched the first patch for the PC version of the game, which will address quite a lot of the problems encountered by players. From the mortar on the walls causing players to pass through them to a lot of problems regarding the healing process, nothing has been left untouched by the development team. A lot of these fixes have targeted the multiplayer mode, especially the ranking system which wasn’t fair in rewarding players with resources after each level.

One thing’s for sure, Far Cry 2 users are definitely going to enjoy a much more glitch free experience in this great release which has surpassed any expectation. You can download it here.
