A dual core laptop was long awaited among the dual core family.

The one we are talking about is produced by WidowPC and is named Sting 917X2.
This new notebook uses the AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ processor, making it the fastest
dual core laptop.
Though, it seems that other companies like Alienware, Vodoo or Sager will soon launch similar products.

The specifications of Sting 917X2 are amazing. It uses an AMD 64 X2 Dual Core 4800+ processor and has a SuperBrite 17 inch widesceen display with a WUXGA+ 1900 X 1200 resolution. The featured graphics board is Nvidia 7800 GTX with PCI Express, and the available memory is 2 GB of DDR RAM. The dual SATA drives with up to 240 GB storing space are completed by the two DVD RW dual layer optical units.

Moreover, we can find a 7 in 1 card reader, a TV tuner with remote control, a front display for media controls, a built in webcam, two Firewire ports, four USB 2.0 ports, a serial port, an IR (Infrared) port, a parallel one, external mouse and keyboard ports, DVI, S-Video in and out, audio in/out and 802.11a/b/g connectivity.

But all these amazing specifications are balanced by the 5,5 Kg weight of Sting 917X2 and by the 3445 USD price for the base model.
