It's been several weeks since actor and comedian Robin Williams tragically and suddenly took his own life leaving behind shocked family and friends, as well as decades of memorable roles that made people laugh, cry and think. In honor of that legacy, the actor is getting a high-profile biography.

Billboard claims that the book is going to be penned by New York Times writer Dave Itzkoff and it will to be published by Henry Holt. The project was announced on August 27 and is still in the early stages, as no title and no publication date have been given at this moment.

Itzkoff did release an official statement related to his involvement in the project that said, “Robin Williams was a cultural hero of mine. In the encounters and interactions I was able to share with him, he was always gentle and generous, humane and thoughtful and hilarious.”

The official statement also held the publisher's claim that the biography was going to be “the definitive, comprehensive account of Williams' life.”

Itzkoff is also the man who wrote Williams' obituary in the New York Times upon his death, and he also wrote a well-documented profile of the actor in 2009, so he's regarded as the perfect man for the job. He has already written several books since he joined the prestigious newspaper in 2006.
