Announced for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned has no date for the PC

A little over two weeks have passed since the first additional content for Borderlands was announced, but Gearbox has already given it a release date. The DLC will become available on November 24 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for $9.99 or for 800 Microsoft Points. The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned DLC has not received a date for the PC version, though, and it seems like the six-day delay the game got for this platform is becoming a habit. “We will have information on the PC version at a later time,” a 2K representative said, but let's hope this will turn out to be a delay of no more than week, just as that the full game experienced.

According to its developers, The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, as the title suggests, will be populated by one Doctor Ned and his undead atrocities, and, of course, the player, or players that will decide to venture in the walking-dead-infested area.

Dr. Ned is a bit of a different sort of doctor than Dr. Zed, the second NPC players come across in the game, the first being the “murder on the dance floor” ClapTrap. Still, if the two share at least as many similarities in characters as their name does in letters, we can expect the zombie-making frankensteinian to not only have a few loose screws, but also a bit of a sadistic side.

Jakobs Cove, the new area, won't be populated by shambling corpses alone, as the good doctor has apparently managed to give birth to were-skags, in some way or another. This is the silver-fearing version of the run-of-the-mill skags that populate Pandora in a less than vast number after the player's passing by.

The downloadable content has been described by its makers as a "full-fledged expansion" and is the first in a long series of expansions planned for the game. Borderlands proved to be a very fun title, a rewarding and satisfactory experience, even if it was hindered by several bugs, some more dire than others.
