Artsy or kitsch, you be the judge

Not everyone is into large lighting devices, but for those who like them, here's Meyda Lighting's latest creation, the Fan-tastic Chandel Air. If you are a fan of fans, then this lighting device should do the trick, as it will not only chase the darkness away from your room, but also make air travel up and down, as you need it to. In its very essence, the product is nothing more than your common ceiling-hanging lamp with a fan. However, there's something more to this particular one, namely a decoration that makes it different from the others.

We're still not decided if this new series of devices from Meyda Lighting is artsy or a simple display of kitsch. From what the pictures let us see, this lamp has been crafted with care and looks neat. It only remains to take a closer look at it, to make things clearer.

The first model of the series is called “Tall Pines at Dusk” and sports a rusty and almost ancient look. The Silver Mica shade surrounding the light bulbs is painted with pine motifs in a yellowish, rusty tone that will spread a mild and warm light in the room. Several pine decorations will cast the shadow of trees on the walls of your chamber and enhance the nature-themed atmosphere.

In the center of this chandelier you'll find a 29-inch fan with reversible blades, which can either pull hot air up during the summer, or send it downwards during the cold periods. Meyda Lighting claims that this feature will also help you save some energy, because you'll use the air conditioning/heating systems less.

One thing is sure about this contraption – it will not be that easy to integrate it in certain home decors. Though, it may look very good hanging from the ceiling of a mountain chalet or inside a nature-themed room, and it will definitely be a hit when installed in pub, preferably a viking-themed one. No info on the price is yet available, but since the Fan-tastic Chandel Air is hand-crafted, nobody should expect anything cheap.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
