The Cybershot line is one of Sony Ericsson's two important product lines, with the help of which the company has been attracting quite a few young customers in the past period of time. Recently, Sony Ericsson has released the K810 to be an upgrade and eventually a replacement of the K800 on the market.

The differences between the two phones are actually very small and the only improvements that have been made regard the handset's camera.

K818 on the other hand, brings even less differences compared to the K810, since it is only a version of the mobile phone that will be made available for areas outside of Europe. The FCC has also been kind enough to approve as well as leak some photos of the handset recently.

For Sony Ericsson's usual customers, the design of the K818/K810 is rather weird. While somewhat similar in looks to the K800, it also features some newly-designed keys that set it apart from every handset Sony Ericsson (as well as other manufacturers) have ever done before. Aiming to provide a better experience for users that want to have a high-quality camera phone, Sony Ericsson has also managed to pack several applications such as Photo Fix, for brightness and contrast.

The handset includes a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, xenon flash and a BestPic shooting mode that will allow the capture of nine pictures. Its music playback features aren't bad either, and the handset packs a media player, FM Radio and a Memory Stick Micro card slot for providing more storage space. As it is obvious from the photo, compared to the K800, the K818c does not feature the second camera on the front for video calling. While there is no information regarding its release date, a FCC approval always means that it will start shipping in shops soon.
