What’s the difference between Windows and a house?

Microsoft claims that Windows 8 is the modern version of its famous Windows operating system, so it’s probably safe to assume that everybody within the Redmond-based giant is pretty satisfied with the way the new version looks and works.

Except for sales, the lack of a Start button, the Metro UI, the (sometimes) slow boot, the Start screen, the live tiles, the Windows Store, the flat design, and those “beautiful” charms, everything is awesome about Windows 8.

In other words, Windows 8 is the best and the most beautiful Windows version so far.

But keeping track of the way the Windows platform evolved is much simpler than you’d be tempted to believe. One smart Japanese user uploaded on Twitter a picture that says pretty much everything about the road from Windows 95 to Windows 8. Using houses, that is.

As you can see, it all started with just a simple and tiny dwelling that had only the things you need the most (such as a door and windows) and it then became a two-story house once XP came out.

Microsoft messed things up with Windows Vista just to fix them with the Playboy mansion-like Windows 7 before eventually failing one more time with Windows 8.

The bottom line? If you want to look like a clown, buy Windows 8. If you want to be Hugh Hefner and get all the chicks, stick to Windows 7.
