Can you take another article on the never-ending battle between the two standards, Blu-Ray and HD-DVD? I wouldn't bother you, but new details have appeared in what may be the Conflict of the Year in technology.

After Toshiba has changed its mind regarding the promised launching of the HD-DVD players (originally scheduled to take
place by the end of the year), DigiTimes informs that Mark Knox, one of Toshiba's advisors in HD DVD said in an interview that these might still be launched this year.

From what could be admired at IFA 2005, it was obvious that Toshiba has made a lot of progress with their format, while the Blu Ray didn't have much to show.

But the coup de gras will be delivered by Play Station 3. At least now we can sleep tight. Until the Sony Play Station 3 is launched, nobody will threaten us with this format again.

Anyway, if you thought that the battle has been fierce, wait until next year, when the real massacre will tale place. Benjamin Feingold, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, said that only after 12 months, the battle will end. In his opinion, the winner will be the Sony Play Station 3, Blu-Ray duo.
