The European Commission launched a brand new channel on the popular online video sharing service, in a move meant to keep the users up-to-date with the latest efforts of the organization. According to Eux.tv, the channel already contains 50 videos including cartoons and other programs, all of them being a part of the
archives. The recently-created channel is very similar to the other ones released for other partnerships such as BBC, Chelsea FC or NBA. All the deals are meant to enhance the content of the online video sharing service and attract different segment of users.

"It is very important for the Commission to use all the means at its disposal when it comes to communicating with European citizens," said Margot Wallstrm, Vice President of the commission, in a statement according to the same source. "We can not ignore the developments which have taken place on the internet in the past few years, in particular the popularity of video sharing sites such as YouTube."

The online video sharing service was acquired in October 2006 by the Mountain View company that paid no less than $1.65 billion for quite a common video product. Since the acquisition was confirmed, YouTube grew up a lot, becoming the most popular solution on the Internet with millions of users every day.

However, the product caused a lot of problems for the parent company because it attracted the others' criticism after numerous videos were uploaded without authorization. Other firms preferred to sue Google, accusing the search giant for copyright infringement. Viacom, to owner of MTV and Comedy Central, sent Google to the judge after it required the removal of 100.000 clips from the page, all of them being uploaded without their approval. In addition, they demanded $1 billion in damages, almost the same amount of money paid for the YouTube acquisition.
