It may sound like a joke, but I assure you it is not: according to various media outlets, Jenna Jameson is beginning to lose her fans. In other words, the unthinkable has just happened: the Queen of Porn has been dethroned, stripped of her crown and powers and is now being dragged through the mud.
While many (women, especially) would say that Jenna Jameson's purpose on earth is vague or, even more, that she has none, let's not jump to conclusions. Sure, she may be a porn starlet but she is not just a simple porn starlet. Without defending her or anything like it, maybe we should not forget that Jenna Jameson is the first woman in the industry to make pornography mainstream. If that was a good thing or a bad one, it's up to you to decide.
Now, in the light of all this and considering that she is the first 'actress' of her kind to launch her own financial empire, the news that she is beginning to lose her fans is all the more troubling. Because, above all, Jenna is a brand, having long surpassed her starlet status... and what will the world do without her?
PageSix (note: the source of many rumors that, in most cases, turn out to be true) claims that Jenna's latest appearance has enraged her fans to such a degree that a drop in sales (of Jena-related products) has already been noted. Towards the end of last week, the star took part in the EXXXotica Adult Film Convention but, according to sources on the inside, her participation should have been greater than just a couple of minutes of posing on the red carpet.
'She was contractually supposed to show up for a total of six hours in two days yet arrived late both days and blew off the event 45 minutes early on the second day of her appearance', a spy told the media. As if sparing the public of her lovely face weren't enough, Jenna also did her best to avoid autograph seekers and dodging questions. All these combined led to the aforementioned drop in sales.
'When fans openly asked her about her [botched surgery] and why she was so thin, her people cut them off. But she shouldn't be standing in front of an old photo of herself when she's about 40 pounds skinnier than she was', the same source told PageSix.
Now, the question of Jenna's botched vaginoplasty and her ever-diminishing bodily frame are still open to debate. But the drop in popularity is real and can be measured accordingly. Should we start preparing ourselves for the figurative death of a porn star? Or rejoice at the thought that another one (a younger one) will soon emerge?
