If you happen to want a smartphone-shaped handset that's not really a smartphone but just a device that lets you read and send e-mails while on the go, Peek might be a good choice. Freshly released across the US, Peek is a handset equipped with a full QWERTY keyboard and a large enough display (2.5 inches and 240 x 320 pixels), both of which should help you stay connected via your e-mail address(es), anywhere and anytime.

As its manufacturer says, the device has no "scary buttons" (How is that, scary buttons? Do they have fangs and a fierce look?) and it should be the simplest solution for busy customers who don't enjoy reading their emails on an ordinary phone / smartphone / Pocket PC. With Peek, you can set up a maximum of three e-mail accounts, from popular providers like Yahoo, Google, Hotmail, AOL and so on.

The device measures 4.02 x 2.7 x 0.42 inches (102 x 68 x 10 millimeters), weighs 109 grams (3.84 ounces) and comes with a battery that should allow you to e-mail for about 2 to 3 days with a single charge.

"Staying connected is increasingly important to people using email to make plans, catch up and share news – a trend that resonates across the country. Peek is so simple and efficient that anyone can stay on top of their email and respond. Peek is finger-friendly, handbag-tough and pocket-safe – and it offers peace of mind to people on the go. Peek’s the antidote to Inbox anxiety," states Amol Sarva, co-founder and chief executive officer of Peek.

You can have your own Peek for only $99.95, plus $19.95 per month if you want unlimited e-mail access. If you're interested, feel free to take a peek at it in all Target stores from across the US, as well as online, via Peek's official website, and note that it's available in three color versions: Black Cherry, Aqua Blue and Charcoal Gray.
