Electric Cinderella, a new self-defense solution for women

Violence towards women is an age-old problem that is not likely to disappear so soon, unfortunately. And that's exactly the reason why so many self-defense devices designed especially for women have been developed over the years (mace sprays, stun guns, and many others), one of the most interesting such devices being the pair of Electric Cinderella Shoes, a concept developed by a fashion researcher, Simona Brusa Pasque.

At the first sight, the Electric Cinderella seems to be an (arguably) elegant pair of shoes, but they hide a very "shocking" secret: 100,000 volts, which the wearer can use in order to stun the possible aggressors. The system works in a very simple manner. By pressing a button on a necklace (an important piece in the system, that plays the part of the remote control), an electric spark is displayed in the transparent glass tip, warning the would-be assailant to back off.

If the aggressor is not intimidated by this show of force, the tip of the Electric Cinderella shoes can be broken off, and they can be used as a stun-gun against the assailant.

These shoes are a very interesting application of the concept of self-defense by stunning the aggressor, especially because they have a very elegant aspect and are also much easier to be used with respect to the classical models, and it's quite likely that we'll see them sold on quite a large scale in the near future.
