A group of computer savvy geeks going by the name of “The Porting Team” have successfully brought The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to the Mac, enabling millions of ‘unsupported’ machines to run Bethesda Studios’ insanely popular single-player RPG.

The Team is pleased to announce the “unofficial port of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” on their main site, where they give out the proper credits for the Cider version (by the team’s own rynotheking14) and for the Wineskin port (by DanIsTheMan).

Skyrim fans looking to run the game on a Mac will require an accessible Windows copy of Skyrim from Steam, Mac OS X 10.5.3 (Recommended 10.5.7), an Intel Dual Core 2.0 GHz CPU, 2 GB of RAM, 6 GB free HDD space, and a dedicated video card with 512 MB of RAM. Porting instructions and troubleshooting can be found here and here.

It’s worth pointing out that you can play any PC game on your Mac by just running it natively in Windows via Boot Camp.
