The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the open-world action first-person title from developer and publisher Bethesda, has managed to get 10,000 mods on the Steam Workshop, a testament to the popularity of the game itself and to how easy to use the Valve-powered service is.

The Shannara Weapon Set seems to be the 10,000th mod to be uploaded.

The Skyrim modding community got started just after the game was launched, before Bethesda offered any sort of tools linked to the game.

Since then the community has only grown and it offers everything from simple changes to gameplay and bug fixes to new adventures that expand the game world and the scope of the narrative.

Bethesda has also supported Skyrim by launching two pieces of downloadable content: Hearthfire, which allows the player to build his own home, and Dawnguard, which adds more gameplay areas and allows players to become vampires.
