Matt Firor, the game director working on The Elder Scrolls Online, says that the entire structure of the game universe is very well suited to the MMO genre, which makes it easy for ZeniMax Online to create a quality experience.

The developer tells GamesIndustry.biz that The Elder Scrolls delivers “giant open world, lots of cool classes, lots of history and depth, the cool combat system that you just experienced.”

The MMO will have different features from those of the single-player series, but ZeniMax Online hopes that the familiar game world will allow players to quickly learn and enjoy the new experience.

The story takes place one millennium before the events seen in Skyrim.

The Elder Scrolls Online will be launched late during 2013 and an invite-only beta stage should be soon introduced.
