The Elder Scrolls Online on the PlayStation 4 platform will not require a PlayStation Plus membership, as owners of Sony's new console will only have to pay the monthly subscription for the actual game.

The Elder Scrolls Online is set to debut this April for the PC and Mac platforms, and in June for the PS4 and Xbox One.

In a recent Q&A on the PS blog, Bethesda has confirmed that The Elder Scrolls Online won't also require a Plus membership on the PS4.

"A PlayStation Plus membership is not required to play The Elder Scrolls Online. PS4 players will only be required to pay the same monthly subscription associated with The Elder Scrolls Online that PC and Mac users will pay — nothing more," the studio said.

As such, like many other online titles that are free-to-play on the PS4, a Plus subscription isn't necessary to experience the multiplayer games.
