Video game developer ZeniMax Online and publisher Bethesda are announcing that their long-awaited update 6 for The Elder Scrolls Online is now live on all game servers, which means that gamers can get access to a number of new systems for the MMO and a range of improvements designed to make sure that players get the best possible experience.

The full list of changes made is too large to list here and is broken down by category, with the most fervent of fans able to take a look at it on the official forums of the title.

The Justice concepts introduced in The Elder Scrolls Online means that gamers can choose to become criminals when visiting any of the cities on the continent, sneaking around and trying to stay undetected as they get their hands on valuables or choosing high-level targets to take out.

Gamers who are detected will need to deal with extra attention from guards and time is required for them to become citizens in good standing again.

The Champion System is designed to offer players a new way to improve their characters as long as they have Veteran Ranks, with a set of points that can be used to power up some passive abilities.

Update 6 for The Elder Scrolls Online is also designed to make provisioning more interesting, with more inventory space and new recipes to deal with.

A number of class abilities have also been tweaked to improve the balance of the MMO.

The Elder Scrolls Online is going free-to-play soon

The ZeniMax Online-created title has managed to last for one year as a subscription title and the company plans to move it to a free-to-play system on March 17, allowing any interested fans of the franchise to explore Tamriel without paying.

Those who still want to pay a monthly sub will be able to get some in-game advantages.

The game will also be launched on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 home consoles, complete with all updates introduced so far, in early June, although there are no plans for cross-play.

The development team says that the switch of business models will give it more ways to improve The Elder Scrolls Online in the long term and will make sure that players will have a wide variety of potential companions to go on adventures with.
