The development team at ZeniMax Online and publisher Bethesda are announcing that the fourth full update for The Elder Scrolls Online is at the moment live on the Public Test Realms for the MMO and that all interested gamers can join in order to test out the content it is set to add.

The two companies are saying in the official announcement that gamers can take a look at the Upper Craglorn region, the new Serpent Trial while also engaging in battle in the Dragonstar Area.

All the classes of the game have also been tweaked and other mechanics have also received changes and fixes based on the feedback that the community for The Elder Scrolls Online has already offered.

ZeniMax Online adds, “In the interest of making it easy to participate in the testing, Character Templates are available so you can create a ready-to-go VR 14 character and see the new content right away. We are also working on the ability to copy your live server characters over to the PTS. We’ll let you know as soon as that option is available.”

All those players who are good enough to complete the Dragonstar Arena in the Public Test Realms using Veteran mode will be invited to attend a special Question & Answer session with the developers, allowing them to get more info about the future of the MMO.

Players are also free to setup of livestreams of the new content.

The developers add, “If you've never tested on the PTS before, it's easy to set up. Just open the ESO launcher, go to the options menu, and click on ‘Show Public Test Environment.’ Once you do that, you'll be able to download the client and play on the PTS by selecting it under ‘Games’ on the left-hand side of the launcher.”

At the moment update 4 for The Elder Scrolls Online does not have an official launch date, but it will probably be out before the end of September.

The MMO uses a monthly subscription-based business model and many analysts have predicted that it will not be able to sustain a solid player base.

Since it was launched in the spring, the team at ZeniMax Online has delivered a range of new free content for the MMO, but it has not unveiled any information on the number of players who are actively engaged with The Elder Scrolls Online.

Versions of the title are also in development for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
