Bethesda has confirmed that the upcoming The Elder Scrolls Online will be as important to the publisher as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, its massively successful single-player RPG.

The Elder Scrolls Online was revealed last year and, since then, not that much has been heard, although there's a closed beta currently going on.

Fans shouldn't worry, as Bethesda Marketing Vice President Pete Hines confirmed to MCV, via VG, that the online experience will receive the same amount of care in terms of support and marketing as The Elder Scrolls V: Skryim.

"It is a big game that is part of our biggest franchise. There is no way that we would half-way it for something that important," he said. "It's still early, but as we move towards launch next spring, we plan to do a lot of the same kind of things we did with Skyrim in terms of support."

Fans will be able to learn much more about the game and its features as we get closer to its spring launch on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
