Bethesda and Zenimax Online Studios, after releasing all sorts of details about their upcoming The Elder Scrolls Online MMORPG, have now posted a lengthy FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) feature on the game’s website, revealing a variety of facts about the online title.

The Elder Scrolls Online was officially announced last month, with developer Zenimax Online Studios and publisher Bethesda trying to deliver an online experience based on the popular role-playing game series.

We have already heard quite a few details about the game, which is out next year, but now the two companies have decided to post an FAQ in order to tackle some of the frequent questions from its fans.

What is The Elder Scrolls Online? The Elder Scrolls Online is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) set in Tamriel, the ancient land that includes the provinces of Morrowind, Daggerfall, and Skyrim. The game takes place 1,000 years before the events of Skyrim during the Age of Heroes. Embark on an epic adventure to save the land from a seemingly unstoppable evil in a sprawling storyline that can be experienced on your own or with friends.

What do I need to play The Elder Scrolls Online?

You'll need a PC or Mac and an active internet connection at all times to play the game. Exact system specifications will be released at a later date.

Can I play alone?

Yes, The Elder Scrolls Online can be played solo, together with friends, or in large guilds and alliances.

Who is the Hero?

You are the hero! Create a character by choosing from the nine classic Elder Scrolls races. Then adventure through the far reaches of Tamriel against hordes of undead, uncover evil plots, and confront your destiny that will change the world.

How does multiplayer work?

Players can choose to join together in small adventure groups or large communities such as guilds. As part of a group you can work together to solve quests, head into epic battles or fight for the throne of Tamriel.

Multiplayer is an important part of our player versus player (PvP) option as well. The Elder Scrolls Online contains a massive PvP war in Cyrodiil. Three Alliances face off in an epic battle over Tamriel’s throne in the Imperial City. Forge alliances, storm fortresses, and overtake your foes as all of Tamriel joins the battle to become the emperor!
