From rumor to rumor, the Eee PC 904 is finally getting some official treatment. As some of you already know, these last days a number of pictures have surfaced the web, displaying ASUS' new Eee PC member.
And if that wasn't enough, today we brought news about the Eee Monitor, ASUS' step towards the all-in-one computer market. But unlike the Eee Monitor, which recently entered the rumor windmill through a couple of pictures, the Eee PC 904 has apparently been confirmed.

The Taiwanese manufacturer hasn't given its Eee PC 904 model the official treatment on a worldwide scale yet, but has instead confirmed its existence to PC Retail. Apparently, the new 904 model is going to be dubbed the Eee PC 904 HD, which means that it will have HD capability, although there are no concrete details on that matter. According to PC Retail, ASUS is ready to launch its new Eee PC netbook as soon as possible in the UK. Knowing that, some even expect the new product to make its debut sometime next week.

Although there are no details about the other rumored Eee PC devices, Eee PC 903 and 905, the Eee PC 904 will come in the same body as the 1001 model and will feature an 8.9-inch screen, as expected. The bigger keyboard has also been confirmed and besides that the new Eee PC will feature a hard disk instead of an SSD, with the storage capacity rumored to be around 80GB.

The price tag isn't final but it is expected to be the cheapest model in the new range. So for about $498, UK users will have a chance to get their hands on this new and improved 8.9-inch ASUS Eee PC.
