I'm sure everyone loves the devices that come with something different, devices that love to show-off the crazy ideas implemented within them. The Samsung SGH-E890 cell phone is one of those bizarre contraptions that will leave you hanging around a display booth wondering: ?If this is not a slider phone than why doesn't it have a keypad of some sort? Where have they hidden it? How is one able to write anything on it??.

Well, the mystery is pretty easy to solve if you continue to read the spec sheet and stumble upon the line that says the phone has a 2.3 inch 256k colors TFT touchscreen, working at a resolution of 240x320 and having handwriting recognition capabilities. This way, Samsung came up with a device that does more than just look great, from my point of view, with an original touch on the usability side by having an implemented Touch UI combining a high-quality TFT display and a keypad, thus providing its users with a new level of communication comfort.

If you are wondering how are you going to write on that display, then you should know the phone comes together with a stylus that will let you express yourself without the need to use the slow and bulky 12 button keypad we are all used to on our non-QWERTY mobile phones.

The 14 mm thick handset will also offer you a 1.3 megapixel digital camera with a CMOS sensor and camcorder abilities, GPRS, EDGE and USB connectivity, wireless Bluetooth, TV-OUT, a music player with support for MP3, AAC, AAC+ and WMA audio files, integrated Java technology, 54 MB of built-in memory, a microSD memory expansion card slot for the storage needy users, all these covered in a cream of interactive touchscreen games.

Therefore, if one adds up all the above features, the tag price of 361 $ is not such a big surprise considering the fact that you will also remain with the freedom of choosing a carrier. There is another possibility though: if you think the Singapore carrier offering the phone with a contract does it for you, then you will be able to get it for only 297.75 $.

It doesn't sound that much when you think about the Touch UI included interface that comes with the package, doesn't it?
