The Earth-Trek Rotating Multi-Card Reader That Also Charges Your Mobile Phone

From time to time, it's quite refreshing to check out the rather weird (and sometimes useless) devices that come out of the "design laboratories" of various Chinese companies, as some of them provide certain features that will certainly bring about some much needed laughter (if not arise interest). And today's featured product is the rotary multi-card reader with mobile phone charger presented by the Hong-Kong based Earth-Trek company, a device whose name provides a pretty accurate description of its capabilities.

The first feature that differentiates this particular product from the pack is its USB AM connector that rotates at 180 degrees, thus allowing users to hook it up a little easier to an USB port, whether located on a desktop computer or a notebook. Moreover, the multi card reader also comes with the appropriate connectors for charging a mobile phone, something that could come in handy when the number of available USB interfaces is rather limited.

One of the most important selling points of any memory card reader is represented by its level of compatibility, but, unfortunately, this particular item is not exactly "breath-taking" from this point of view. Thus, the rotating multi-card reader supports SD, Mini SD,MMC, MMC4.0, MS, MS Pro Duo, Micro SD (T-flash), etc, which are pretty popular formats, although the lack of CF is quite a major disappointment.

The rotating multi card reader is not a lot bigger than an USB flash drive, as it only measures around 80 mm x 27 mm x 12 mm, at a weight of around 29 grams. Furthermore, users can choose from the several available color versions, namely silver/ black/ blue/ pink/ white/ orange the one that best suits their style and preferences.

No word on the pricing yet, but, as most Chinese products, this thing will probably come pretty cheap.
