The fact that DJ-ing is changing these years is rather old news, as more and more people make use of new, emerging audio controlling technologies and tend to rely less on the traditional vinyl discs. But a DJ controller like the EKS Otus is something completely different, when it comes to versatile configuration setup, looks and functionality.[admark=1]

The Otus is what EKS describes as a "next generation digital DJ controller": this unit packs in more features than any traditional digital console and aims for nothing less than an amazing reproduction of the functions and feel of the old turntables.

While mixing in a wonderful, sleek design, the EKS Otus comes with a very serious tech load, meant to add dramatic and new dimensions to the art of DJ-ing.

At the heart of the EKS Otus is a 4-channel, 24-bit sound card which can work with pretty much any DJ-in software around. It also supports 16-bit resolution and 44.1/48 kHz sampling rates for a truly pristine audio experience. And since the frequency response ranges between 4 Hz and 24 kHz, you can be sure you'll be able to get the party going even with very demanding, high-def audio tracks.

The 7.5" jogwheel is configurable and an additional touchpad with dual motion sensors has been added for even more versatility and operational possibilities. Even more, an innovative switch key has been introduced, allowing the DJ to conveniently select from two layers of controls. The EKS Otus comes with integrated MIDI support and MIDI mappers so it is very easy to set up with pretty much any software application, thus offering immense freedom for the individual creativity.

The EKS Otus boasts complex connectivity with Windows, Linux and Mac, with USB 1.1 and 2.0 speeds, 4 analog RCA and dual optical S/PDIF outputs, completed by a headphone jack. This cool controller is made from very solid aluminium components for extended durability and reliability even in abusive conditions. Scheduled to hit the stores pretty soon, the EKS Otus' price remains yet to be announced.
