Fox Searchlight has released the international trailer for the crime drama “The Drop,” which also happens to be James Gandolfini’s last movie ever. Fans of Tom Hardy know it as that movie in which he gets to play around quite a lot with a cute puppy.

The first official trailer was released in April, setting the scene and the tone: this is a movie about a former gangster (Gandolfini) who is now running a bar which is actually a cover for the wise guys, the place that acts as “the drop” for the money for various illegal activities.

All things take a turn for the disastrous when a robbery takes place at the bar and all the money is gone, both from the register and that day’s “drop.” Gandolfini and Hardy’s characters are forced to retrieve it or there will be hell to pay for them.

“The Drop” also stars Noomi Rapace and is directed by Michael R. Roskam, who previously directed “Bullethead,” off a script by Dennis Lehane (“Gone Baby Gone” and “Mystic River”).

It will be out in theaters worldwide in September and, as you can see from the pull-quotes included in this new trailer, it’s already getting pretty solid reviews. It seems that Gandolfini’s final movie will be the cinematographic exit such a brilliant actor deserves.
