The music industry may be going downwards in many respects, but there still are people who make fortunes with just one song. Case in point, serial chart topper The-Dream.

On a recent appearance on the British radio show The Tim Westwood Show, The-Dream revealed just the kind of money one can make if one writes the words for a hit song.

He's the guy behind Rihanna's “Umbrella” and, even if the chorus was considered one of the most annoying things ever (what with the ella-ella-ella repetition), it was a certified hit.

The-Dream believes he made about $15 million (€11.6 million) off it and, if you think about it, he just wrote the words for it, not the music.

Below is the interview with The-Dream. Check it out to hear him confirm the above, as well as speak about writing the words for Justin Bieber's “Baby” and the drama behind his divorce from Christina Milian.
