Tom Clancy's The Division saw a fair share of gameplay reveals between E3 2013 and this year's edition of the gaming trade show, but there is still plenty of mystery surrounding the upcoming third-person open-world shooter.

The mystery pertains mostly to the way upgrading weapons works, as well as the character customization options and ranking up, which is a significant portion of the upcoming class-based, character-oriented game, especially considering that your loadout will play a crucial role when it comes to the way you approach encounters.

Fortunately, YouTube user MarcoStyleNL has been able to piece together all the available information, from the gameplay videos and various developer interviews at E3, offering a very informative breakdown of all the revealed weapons, complete with all their attachments and mods and how they influence the way the guns work.

For now, weapons seem to be divided into five major classes: pistols, shotguns, submachine guns, assault rifles, and marskman rifles.

The guns seen in the gameplay reveals so far are the Colt M1911, PX Storm and HK USP 45 pistols, the Saiga 12 Gauge and M1014 12 Gauge shotguns, and the Kriss Vector submachine gun, as far as lighter weapons go.

The ones with heavier firepower are the SRS and M14 DMR marskman rifles, and the assault rifles have gotten the most love so far, being represented by the M4, M416, Mk17 SR (FN Scar-Heavy PR), FN Scar Light, Steyr Aug, AK-47, and L85.

All the guns feature various attachments that slightly alter the way they work in-game, such as flip-up iron sights, holographic sights, magnifying optic sights, various types of noise suppressors, foregrips, extended magazines, adjustable stock, alternate ammunition, camo versions, and even alternate barrel lengths.

The developers seem to be dedicated to offering gun enthusiasts a lot of stuff to play with, especially since the company announced that Red Storm Entertainment, the makers of the Ghost Recon series and some of the Rainbow Six games, would also join them in an effort to create a more authentic arsenal of modern weaponry.

Developer Massive Entertainment said that they opted to have The Division run at 30 frames per second on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms in order to deliver a richer visual experience, in a sort of trade-off for increased graphical fidelity that would translate into a more immersive experience.

The game is currently slated for a 2015 release, coming to the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
