Ubisoft confirms that it's going to organize different beta stages for its upcoming The Division multiplayer online role-playing experience. The first stage will be exclusive to the Xbox One in December, but in the following months, PC and PS4 test stages will also be organized.

The Division has been hyped up for quite some time, as Ubisoft first revealed the ambitious multiplayer experience back at E3 2013. Since then, it's released quite a few videos, screenshots, and materials with the online title, but a delay was also announced and the company revealed that more studios were working alongside main developer Massive to finish the game as quickly as possible.

Beta stages will be organized for The Division on all platforms

At Ubisoft's E3 2015 press event yesterday, the French company pinned a March debut period onto The Division. It also started sharing the first details about the planned beta stages for the online experience.

On the official website, as part of an FAQ, Ubisoft confirms that there will be multiple beta test phases for The Division ahead of its March launch. The very first trial stage will take place in December, but it will only be available on the Xbox One, as part of a special exclusivity deal with Microsoft.

However, in the following months, PC and PS4 owners will also be able to test out the multiplayer game before its launch.

Right now, the only way to gain access into the beta is to pre-order The Division. However, not even then can Ubisoft guarantee access. Right now, it seems that the pre-order incentive is only available in the U.S., but you can expect details for Europe and other parts of the world in the future.

Ubisoft confirms that special in-game rewards might be offered to beta testers, but emphasizes that it will share more information at a later point in time.
