When it became clear that the sleeper “Paranormal Activity” was a smashing hit, Paramount created a special film division, Insurge Film, that would focus solely on this type of projects. “The Devil Inside” is the first in what will probably be a very long line.

The first trailer for “The Devil Inside” has been released and, while not many details on the plot are available, it does indicate that the film will be a combination of the “found footage” technique and traditional film narratives, including the “based on real story” one.

Dealing with the story of a young woman, Isabella, who visits her mother in an asylum where she’s been locked up for years for killing 3 people during an exorcism, “The Devil Inside” promises to be different than countless other cheap films of the same type.

Moreover, for having a budget of under $1 million (€730,834), it seems to boast pretty impressive special effects, which, as expected, include a body twisted in unnatural ways doing a scary demonic possession scene.

“The Devil Inside” comes out on January 6, 2012, so, until then, fans can only guess whether it will rise to the hype.
