It's been a while since Capcom did something with its Darkstalkers games, but that doesn't mean the demand doesn't exist. The comics based on the game's universe have been doing just as well, if not better, than the game itself. UDON Entertainment is the one that's responsible for the project, and, after seeing what a great hit the Darkstalkers Tribute art book was, it has decided to listen to the fans and give them something more. As such, Capcom's parade of freaks and monsters will return this January as a new comic book.

Whether it is out of pure dedication to the franchise or if it just sees a financial gain in the situation, at least UDON is doing something with the series. The new Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors limited series will become available in the early days of 2010 and it will be made up as a three-issue product. The Night Warriors will follow the adventures of Morrigan, Donovan, Pyron and Demitri in their struggle to have the world in the palm of their hand.

The comic book will also include some new additions to the comic, as Q-Bee, Anakaris, Huitzil and Sasquatch will be introduced in the story. Alongside these new additions, others will also take part in the fight, so it seems like the comic will have plenty of excitement for everyone.

Artist Alvin Lee is the one that provided the art for the three connecting covers, while Emily Warren designed some additional covers for the comic book that feature the young women and the rest of the female monster cast. The book proper is written by Ken Siu-Chong and the artwork is provided by Joe Vriens and Eric Vedder of UDON Entertainment.

The game series released its first title in 1994, Darkstalkers – The Night Warriors, or Vampire – The Night Warriors, as it is known in Japan, and had two other proper sequels. In spite of various re-releases, some adaptations of the title, and its popularity, it never really saw another full, new game.
