The Darkness 2 Has Four Player Co-Op Vendettas Mode

2K Games and Digital Extremes have just confirmed that the upcoming The Darkness II first person shooter will also have a special cooperative mode called Vendettas which supports up to four players, all wielding special Darkness powers.

The original Darkness was a pretty decent game, owing much to the original comic books it was based on. Now, with The Darkness 2, 2K and Digital Extremes want to amp it gory action up, as seen through previous trailers that showed off its bloody executions or the quad wielding mechanic, in which the protagonist, Jackie Estacado, used two guns and two Darkness arms to dismember his enemies.

Now, the companies have confirmed that The Darkness 2 will also sport a special Vendettas cooperative mode, in which players take the role of four unique characters each with their own Darkness abilities and weapons.

The narrative in Vendettas runs parallel to the single-player story and will even see Jackie appear in some missions, which are organized in the form of the Hit List. Once a player starts the Vendettas mode, he’ll have a certain number of hit list missions available. As he progresses, new ones will be unlocked, which can be played just like the single-player mode, although some do require at least another player to complete.

Inugami: A a dark and mentally unstable character with revenge-driven motives against The Brotherhood and their allies for the slaughter of his entire family in Japan.
Darkness Weapon: Kusanagi sword

Shoshanna: An ultra-efficient agent for Mossad, the Israeli Intelligence Agency, who was sent to New York to combat a spike in Brotherhood activity. Her obedience and devotion to her superiors makes her a perfect operative.

Darkness Power: Gun channeling

Jimmy Wilson: A product of inner-city Glasgow, Scotland, and a notorious alcoholic, Jimmy believes The Brotherhood is simply another form of the Hated English that persecuted his family in the past.

J.P. DuMond: A former doctor from New Orleans, DuMond is burdened with guilt for using a form of Louisiana Voodoo to heal his patients
