Buck, alias “The Dog Who Wouldn’t Die,” as the media nicknamed him, is receiving medical attention and recovering from horrific injuries.

The 3-year-old mixed breed pooch was found in a garbage bag, after being shot in the face, head, neck and shoulders, with a pellet gun. The bag was tied to a fence, and discovered by residents of Conroe, Texas.

Tami Augustyn took care of the pet, and set up a Facebook page to pay for its recovery. As she needed thousands of dollars for treatment, she never thought she could save him.

To her surprise, “Buck Needs Bucks for his Buckshot Injuries” drew a lot of attention, attracting over 26,000 likes and a sufficient amount in donations.

“Your generosity has been AWESOME and if it weren't for each and every one of YOU, Buck would not have a 2nd chance at love,” Augustyn posted on Facebook, according to HuffPost.
