The Daily 1.0.3 is now available for iPad users. The updated app includes an extended free trial period, improved stability, increased responsiveness through the application, and improved performance when using the app offline or a 3G connection to the Internet.

Built by a team of top journalists and designers, The Daily is the first digital news publication with original content created exclusively for the iPad, and covers news in sports, pop culture, entertainment, apps, games, technology, opinion, celebrity gossip and more, from all over the world.

According to its makers, The Daily Holdings, Inc., “The Daily has the depth and quality of a magazine but is delivered daily like a newspaper and updated in real-time like the web.”

Key features include over 100 pages of original content every single day of the year; original HD videos; 360-degree photos you can explore by swiping; immersive photography; interactive charts, info-graphics and clickable hot spots; the ability to save articles for later reading; sharing web-friendly versions of articles via Twitter, Facebook and e-mail; in-app commenting — including audio comments; local weather; and sudoku puzzles and crossword renewed daily.

According to The Daily Holdings, version 1.0.3 is an “essential” update. The developers advise that users delete the original app from their iPad before proceeding with the installation of the new version.

“For best results when updating please delete the older version of the app from your iPad before installing this one,” The Daily Holdings says.

As noted above, The Daily 1.0.3 includes an extended free trial period. Additionally, “This new version of The Daily (v1.0.3) focuses on the things our readers have requested most,” the developers say.

These are: improved stability; increased responsiveness throughout the app; and improved performance when using offline or connecting via 3G.

The developers encourage existing users of The Daily to “update today for an improved experience.”
